I started this website back in 1998. In those days there was no Google - we were using other search-engines (like Altavista or Hotbot). Because of my well-documented preference for tall women I entered "tall women" into some of the search-engines. All they came up with were some "fetish websites" aimed at the male audience who admire tall women. So I sat down and started looking for websites a tall woman might be interested in visiting and made a website out of the information I could gather. In the beginning the tallwomen.org domain didn't exist. The website was hosted by Tripod - a free service which was good enough for starters but after a while I began disliking the pop-ups and other limitations. That's why I bought the tallwomen.org domain in 1999 and rented dedicated webspace at the German hoster Strato. Since 1999 tallwomen.org has grown quite a bit (in content and in acceptance). On a very positive note: there are more and more companies emerging that focus on the needs of the taller woman and I am grateful for that (I suppose you are too). Well, that's history - thankfully! Firstly let me say I'm not American. Having said that I know how much I (we) owe your forefathers as well as all the Britons, Australians, New Zealanders etc. who fought in WW II to liberate this continent. To my American friends: I don't believe America is in decline. If you've ever spent more than just a vacation in Europe you will know that it's this continent that's in decline. It's not just about visiting the (admittedly impressive) monuments of the past or enjoying the cultural highlights (i.e. drinking red wine and eating French baguettes). For those who (have to) live here it's mainly about being taxed to death and not being able to speak freely.
Our freedom of speech and our civil liberties have been eroded (by the EU and the governments of our countries - especially Germany - which is pretty much as socialist as it was before the Berlin Wall fell). The lefties are on the march and that is always a bad sign. Remember: both Hitler and Stalin were socialists!
If the American left were serious about their political stance they would all move to Europe. It surely is a Leftists paradise. But, no, they want the whole world to be the cesspool the Soviet Union was and China, Venezuela, North Korea and Europe are today. I thought the discussions were over once the Berlin Wall fell but I was wrong. Stupidity will prevail, it seems. So... whatever you may think of your country you're still a lot better off than we are. It's all a matter of perspective... If the U.S. were as bad as some people say - why do so many people want to live there? Exactly... And: Some people think that I don't have any other interests than tall women. Well, they are wrong! I love my football (aka soccer) and especially my club West Ham United F.C.

Well, let's just say I hope I'm not as shallow as some might say... You are probably wondering why there are so many banners / advertisements on this website these days... The reason for this is easy: running a website costs money. In order to run this website money needs to be generated otherwise I'd be subsidising it as long as it is going to be online (and hopefully it will be online for a long time).
