How To Embrace Who You Are
If you have low self-confidence, then you may think that the idea of loving yourself is impossible, but that doesn't have to be the case. There are lots of little things you can do to improve your self-confidence, even if the process can seem overwhelming.
Here are five tips to help you embrace who you are.
Assert Your Identity
The first thing you should do if you are feeling down about yourself is take some time to assert your identity. Think about all of the traits you like about yourself; are you funny? Are you kind? Are you someone's sister? Someone's friend? Write a list of sentences about yourself that start with "I am", and only write down things that you value about yourself. Take some time to read over it, and keep it somewhere safe so you can read it again in the future if you are ever having a bad day.
Take Action
Once you know who you are and what you like about yourself, you can take action. Find ways to value yourself even more; if you think that you are kind, you could try volunteering. If you think you are creative, you could spend making beautiful things. Focus Your Attention Inwards

Surround Yourself With The Right People
Finally, you should make sure that the people around you love and respect you. Toxic people are everywhere, and if you let them into your life they will ruin your self-confidence over time. So look at your friend group and ask yourself; do my friends make me feel loved and supported? Is there anyone who frequently ruins my mood? Which friends take the time to listen to me and understand me? Which friends do I avoid spending too much time with?
It is possible that you will realise you have a toxic friend who brings you down; if this happens, try to cut them out of your life. It can feel like a tough task, but it will be impossible to love yourself properly if you frequently spend time with negative people who don't love you. So put yourself first by surrounding yourself with positive, loving people.
