I just noticed yesterday, but it looks like the latest Joomla update has changed the way internal weblinks are treated by the system. Without the parameter "&task=weblink.go" links will not open the target link / URL, but will show an internal page that lists the actual link / URL.

Of course you can click that link and continue to the target link / URL, but it's one step that most certainly isn't needed and constitutes what I call "annoying behaviour". Right now I'm going through all pages so I can add the parameter "&task=weblink.go". You can imagine that this is a lot of work. After all this is not a small website.
